ALERT // NEW GENRE

ROADMEN AS A NEW FILM GENRE?...

Yes, we know what you are thinking, this is not a real genre, stop making stuff up.

Just for disclosure, this is just an idea I would like to bring to the table as a category that, in my own opinion, needs to be added as a Film Genre. There are many out there genres out there for different movies for example the typical ones of Action, Sci-Fi, Comedy, etc.

After being a "professional film watcher" myself, I had noticed that there was something weird about the genres added to movies based on British Gang Violence. The main (or only) genre that appears is "Crime" and is highly unjustified due to the face that as this is another different level of crime film, that it deserves its own category and/or genre. For this, I would most definitely suggest that the name of said genre should be appropriately called "Roadman", only to differentiate itself from other genres like "Crime", "Gangster", "Mafia", "Yakuza" and "Mumbai Underworld." All these genres have a place for their own sort of crime or violence scenarios so this new genre will represent the British culture in crime movies.

Now, as stated, I have watched multiple movies in which I believe should be under the new genre that I suggested. A few movies are the following: Blue Story (2019), KiDULTHOOD (2006), AdULTHOOD (2008), BrOTHERHOOD (2016) and The Intent (2013). There are movies that were even made older then these examples, so they have been around for a long time now, so this new genre could be significant to them. Also, there is a TV Series which is an example of what is being said, and that is the popular television programme called Top Boy (2019). What is even more, some items that represent this genre are Guns, Violence, Knives, Drugs and Language, which could further support my declaration.
