Personalities // Social Media

LIFE vs SOCIALS

One recognisable trait that a person has is their personality. What is personality, this is where the blend of different qualities that define us creating our unique and personal character. This is something that is developed over the course of the years depending on the way you were brought up. As stated, this defines who you are and how you want people to see you. There was a time where people were the same wherever they go whether it is work, school or at home, but during the changes in this modern society, it has been adapted and changed to the point where most individuals can be seen having multiple personalities or being called "two-faced".

Social Media has now adapted to being a popular and common aspect to human life that it is now inbuilt into our day-to-day schedule. To define what social media is, to put it simply, they are websites and apps that gives users the ability to share content and to participate in social networking. It was created so that people can share images, videos, GIFS, messages and so much more to people that they know without having to worry about data charges as everything is sent via the cloud when sending through these methods.

Overtime, as the saying goes, 'what is made for good, end up becoming evil' (or something along those lines) and I will explain why I choose to state this. Yes, it is a harsh way to put this, but when you look closely to the danger and damage it can cause a person, it outweighs the good it may have. We all know the usual stalker scenarios and personal information grabbings, but will be explaining about the problems that it may cause to a person mentally.

Do you know about someone who always uploads content of them "enjoying" life, but when you are with them, they are as sad and depressed as Eeyore? Many celebrities and influencers do this all the time, and this is to show the good moments in their lives because absolutely nobody likes to show off every bad aspect of their life. This is a fake social media personality where people choose to show one part of them on social media, and the other part leave it for those who see them personally can see. We all have done this and may still be do this even without knowing and needs to be worked on, because this creates more stress and depression to people living lives like this. If you can, either step away from social media for a while, or even consider what you are going to post and the reason why you want to post it.
